The last six months have been a bit of whirlwind. Truthfully, the last year has been a whirlwind. I'll give you the abbreviated version: we had a baby and moved. An amazing little girl, Hendrix Lou, who is currently in a screeching-paper tearing-babbling-occasional pinching-growing like a weed-rolling around-licking phase. We adore her. We marvel at her. Pretty much every day. Okay, every minute.
We meant to blog sooner. We had grand plans: new logo, website revamp, blog collaborations. It was all amazing and none of it happened. Life happened. So did Netflix and chill; so did Republique and chill. And also, Cofax and chill. We had some amazingly hectic and some amazingly lazy days and our attention was quickly diverted to other projects. On April 12, 2016, we found out we were pregnant and it was pure magic.
We spent most of our year energetically and mental (and of course, physically) consumed by our pregnancy and work. We (baby and I) spent our weekend driving up to see George, listening to audiobooks, dancing in the mountains. We explored Northern California with George, we ate delicious food, splurged, embraced our bump and chatted with our bump. We meticulously and thoughtfully planned for our greatest adventure: parenthood.
Suddenly she was here and it feels like she was always with us. She stares and listens, she has tiny curls and the cutest hands. And if she gets the chance, she'll pinch you. Clearly she's my daughter.
The good news: we have a lot to share and a lot to catch you up on about all things Hendrix, glorious savory and sweet recipes, fashion, music and everything in-between. We are pretty excited to resume our love affair; we hope you'll follow along. This is our life. Life by the Carters.
